Our Mission

"To be and become a place of grace for all" is God's mission for our congregation.  There are four parts to this mission, each of which has its own special meaning:

• To Be And Become - to decide to be and then become, to change our state and then change ourselves, to grow into and mature into and develop into
• A Place - a body, a group, a gathering, an assembly, a community, a family
• Of Grace - God's saving grace to us, God's daily grace to us, and our mutual graciousness to each other
• For All - every person of every kind, regardless of race, age, gender, class, and history

This is what God wants, this is what the Scripture describes, this is what our world needs, and thus this is what we seek: "to be and become a place of grace for all."

 We have a vision of First Christian Church as being and becoming a place of grace for all, a place...

• serving and worshipping God

• leading the unsaved to salvation and the saved to maturity 

• speaking, teaching, and applying biblical truth with love 

• helping each other turn away from sin and toward God

• loving people through acts of service

• discovering and using our gifts from God

• uniting in essentials and respecting liberty in non-essentials

• growing faithful servants and servant leaders •building authentic relationships with each other and the community

• training individuals to serve in ministry teams

• respecting the uniqueness of all God's people

• sharing our blessings with those in need

• thriving as an active family •rejoicing in salvation

• celebrating God's works

• living in love and forgiveness
