Our Services

We do several simple things during our worship services.

On Sunday morning, we gather together in the auditorium.  There, we do several things:

  • We sing songs and hymns; this is to praise God.
  • We partake of the Lord's Supper or Communion; this is the ceremonial eating of bread and drinking of wine to remember the death of Jesus.  This ceremony is open, meaning we don't force anyone to partake or forbid anyone from partaking; we allow each partake or not partake as they choose and merely encourage each who partakes to contemplate on Jesus and His death as they do so.
  • We take up a collection; this is the giving of funds to support the work of the church.  Like Communion, this collection is open; no one is made to give by force, but each is encouraged to give by freewill.
  • We listen to a message or sermon; this is to hear from and learn about God.
  • We pray; this is to speak with God and ask for His help with our lives, families, work, church, community, and world.

On Wednesdays, we gather together in the fellowship hall.  There, we also do several things:

  • We eat together; we share a meal and each other's company.
  • We break into groups for study and prayer; the kids and youth each have their groups, and the adults can choose between a Bible study group or a prayer group.

In all of our services, we strive to maintain a reverence toward God, respecting Him as being above us, and graciousness toward each other, respecting each other as we want others to respect us.   We allow for diversity (and indeed have a lot of diversity in age, dress, appearance, and others) while striving for our harmonious edification and God's true glorification.
